Jillian Tamaki's unique illustration harks back to the classy old school of those hallowed pages of The New Yorker. Still, her illustrations for the CBC website, ranging from schizophrenic mind-patterns of pop culture junkies to indellible portraits of Patti Smith and, erm, Avril Lavigne (in Tamaki's hands she's actually kind of cool) are but the tip of the iceberg. Tamaki's heart lies in her personal sketches and comics, available for purchase (and cheap as chips) on her on-line store.
