For Your Listening Pleasure

In seriously heavy rotation (at least in my iTunes playlist) is the deliciously trippy, electrodub-infused album by Aleksi Virta enitled …Meets Torsti At The Space Lounge. This sonic gem was found amidst the increasingly immense Netlabels archive. I'm continually boggled that tracks as good as Princess Melodiae are completely free for the taking. Go snoop around for yourself. You won't come away disappointed.

Speaking of excellent free albums, Terminal Sound System recently released most of their back catalogue online. You can find the excellent "Unquiet Sun" here. One of my favorite albums, it could be described as minimal, atmospheric, dark-hop riddled with sub bass - very much in the vein of Scorn's 1995 masterpiece "Gyral."

Another favorite of mine from Netlabels just happens to be from Finland as well. If you liked Aleksi Virta's grooves, you'll probably dig Ernesto Aeroflot's Oll Tolk'n' no Ding atcheev'd album on the Monotonik label.

Sweet. I've been following Netlabels for quite some time now, and it's always an amazing resource for quality minimal techno. Textone, Autoplate, Kyoto, and Thinner are all superb labels. Respect to them as well as the artists for supplying free, top rate music.

For me, the massive Monotonik+Friends library is a frighteningly regular source of surprise and entertainment. Between that and my private fetish for 8bitpeoples, I don't know what I'd be listening too right now. Probably some old Flock of Seagulls b-sides.
