Skateboarding and explosions: together at last!

The opening credit sequence of Lakai's Fully Flared video is a work of deranged genius. The skaters' slow-motion grace and some truly dangerous-looking detonations elevate this way above your typical wobbly-camera skate video. For the full effect you really need to get a copy and watch it on the largest screen you can find. Only then can you truly appreciate the finer details, like when Brandon Biebel gets a face full of debris but somehow manages to stay upright and nonchalant.

I should mentioned that Shawn was the first to find this. Anyone with a big screen TV should invite him over for repeated viewings.

I understand my years of recreation worship in a clearer, fonder and more powerful sense having consumed that great dream made real ... Yeah ... Dope ... That's What I'm Talking About.

At least as powerful as those big global world cup 'football' adidas - kids in the streets ads that come around every four years ... well at least it is to me. Thanks.

Looks like the video's been pulled by Lakai - if you didn't get a chance to see it, just take CJ, Aaron and Jon's word for how awesome it is.

The video is available again, via YouTube. Reposted, natch.
