Letterpress Poster, Second Iteration

This is the second iteration of an earlier, similar poster.

This letterpress poster was handcrafted character by character over the course of roughly 100 hours. Characters from the Bickham Script Pro, Engravers MT, and Epic typeface families form the edifice featured in the artwork, the Salt Lake Temple.

Each poster measures 16"x24" and is printed on Crane Lettra Pearl. Letterpressed by Bryce Knudson of Bjørn Letterpress in Provo, Utah.

Cameron, can you please tell me what the statement at the top of the temple says? I can only make out "Lord...Lord"

Utterly mind blowing poster. I love it.

Ampersanderson - I believe that's "Holiness of the Lord The House of the Lord".
Here's a photo.

After living blocks away from the Salt Lake Temple for the first half of my life, I can confirm that it is a pretty remarkable building that has been photographed millions of times. Cameron's is the most beautiful depiction I've seen.

@ Ampersanderson - Stephen's correct about the wording. The full wording:
Holiness to the Lord
The House of the Lord
Built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Commenced April 6, 1853
Completed April 6, 1893.

@ Stephen - Thanks, that means a lot, especially coming from someone such as yourself.

Thank you both.

I am disappointed. I looked through the photo set, expecting to see a huge chase full of lead type, but it's just a poly plate. That would have been awesome. Then I looked at some of the nested letterforms and realized that would have been impossible.

I believe it's "Holiness to the Lord" not "Holiness of the Lord".

Cameron, I have to say.... My husband surprised me with this artwork for Christmas. I was totally blown away when I pulled it out. It is impressive to look at the design here , but man, when I ran my fingers along the print (Over the plastic of course) I truly was in awe. Amazing work with such detail and care. And such a great idea. We are planning on framing it professionally next month and as of now, it will be the only temple artwork on our walls. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. Are there any plans for the LA temple or Potland, OR temple? :-)

I think it is absolutely beautiful.

I teach typography in a norwegian high school, and love to show this to my students.

I have to get this poster and frame it! I was married there and it would make the perfect anniversary gift for my husband. I love how you did this and would love to hear the story of it's creation - is there meaning with certain letters used in certain places... symbolism etc.? I did a post on my blog - raving about it which you can see...

@ gina: Thanks for the kind words and the blog post! Unfortunately, there are no hidden words or meaning in the letters and numbers. It's all random. There will be meaning in the next poster, however, the subject of which has yet to be announced :)
