Linda and Paul get their own font: McCartney

Speak Up posted about this last week, and to tell you the truth, I really like the idea of a McCartney font. The designer, Daniel Cassaro, has included two weights: Paul and Linda.

I'm hoping the next Beatles themed design is a Yoko Ono/John Lennon Bed-In lego set.

SuperBowl Logo Re-design

The New York Times recently asked a few exciting, and talented designers to provide alternative Super Bowl logos, as the Big Game nears this weekend.

Check out the slideshow and let me know your thoughts sports fans!

Star Wars Storyboards

Laughing Squid turned me on to this fabulous collection of Star Wars storyboards on Flickr. I enjoyed watching George Lucas' Episodes 1 through 3, sans Jar-Jar, but nothing can really replace the original trilogy for me.
If you loved the simplicity of the first three, just as I did, these storyboards will take you back to a time in your life when Y-wings, X-wings, and calling your best friend, Gold Leader, meant something. When it didn't matter if Greedo was speaking Rodian or Huttese, because all you needed to know was that he was bad, and Han was going to light him up.
Those were the days!!!

Inbox Victory!!!

I have recently changed roles within the company. What does that mean?
Basically, my inbox is now finally under control. Since I really wanted to tell someone I searched high and low for a place to shout it from the web. I've found the place here.

Thrash that URL

Agency Spy turned me on to this website, that allows you to "re-design" any URL you want, with choice elements. It's a time waster, but fun!

The Big Picture

Laughing Squid turned me on to this website, and I'm happy they did. "With its vibrant oversized photographs and minimalist design, the Boston Globe's The Big Picture weblog launched on June 1 to instant global acclaim. It's designed, programmed, and written by Alan Taylor, an old-school web programmer and blogger, in his spare time while working on community features at Boston.com. (You might know Alan from his popular MegaPenny Project, Amazon Light, or his other projects.)" (via Waxy.org)

Take off, eh!

You can't help but think how terrible the world would have been without Bob and Doug McKenzie. Brewmeister Smith would have happily turned us all into zombies, and we'd all still be working at the Elsinore Brewery.
I'm excited to see what the animated hosers will get up to as the cartoon makes its way to Fox and Global TV in Canada.
