Ever see a panda vomit rainbows? What about a panda vomiting rainbows and an ever changing stream of flickr photos? No? Well you must see the Flickr Explore page set up by illustrator The Searcher. Hours of captivating bewilderment.
Directors Simon Gesrel and Xavier Ehretsmann create an amazing non-official video for the Electronica band Zombie Zombie (duo is made up of mad scientists Professor Etienne Jaumet and Cosmicneman) for the song "Driving this road until death sets you free."
Simply put this video has two of my favorite things from the 80s going for it: GI JOE and John Carpenter's movie THE THING.
Chris Gilmour has taken the ordinary cardboard box and recreated everyday objects such as microscopes and Fiat 500's with such rich and amazing detail.
Curator Guido Bartorelli writes on Chris' site... "Gilmour has imposed a strict logic on his works he makes objects using only cardboard and glue. There is no supporting structure, no wooden or metal frame. His interpretations of everyday objects are created in adherence to the use of a pure and single material, but instead of the marble or bronze of classical statues, he has chosen one of the most humble and commonly found of our industrial times."
Indeed, these are some astounding pieces that speak so much conceptually.
Handwriting can say a lot about a person. Does it describe how we communicate as people at all? What about the people who create the words we read and use to communicate in this print heavy world... the typographer? Does their own hand writing have anything to do with the creation of fonts. The maninblue.com asked this question to several prominent award winning type designers like Erik Spiekermann and Dino dos Santos.
Here is the result .
I love to sit in the passenger seat and just watch. The world is always changing. The characters always interesting. It seems photographer Andrew Bush has the same love. Strapping a camera to his passenger window he created the Vector portraits from a series of 66 drives. He captured many characters on the freeway's around LA and the southern US often traveling at speeds of 50 to 70mph. All photo's were taken from 1989 to 1997.
Everyone just loves time travel. 88 mph here I come!
A little while ago Brit music super heroes Radiohead dropped the elements to remix the song "Nude" for an online contest and had some interesting results. This video is one of them using entirely retro computer hardware to create a very chunky, eery and amazing piece by UK video artist James Houston.
