FAQ: Quality & Content

What kinds of content will Veer Marketplace accept?
We’re looking for high-quality content that will appeal to Veer’s design-savvy customer base. Things like:

- Model-released images of people in business or lifestyle settings
- Images that creatively capture in-demand concepts like “green” or “togetherness”
- High-quality travel and landscape shots with excellent technical quality
- Technically excellent shots of utilitarian business and home tools and objects
- Vectors: from simple (but useful) backgrounds, to more stylized work

What kinds of content won't be accepted?
Veer customers prefer – and count on – a tighter, more curated selection of content. This is good news for you. A smaller pool filled with higher-quality content means your content has a better chance to be noticed. To that end, we suggest you don't submit:

- Multiple, similar images of flowers from your garden
- Snapshots of your cat sunbathing (no matter how adorable)
- Outtakes from your last family vacation
- Images that include designs, logos, or trademarks
- Images that include famous modern buildings or modern art
- Images with heavy use of filter effects

Do you accept Editorial images?
Nope. All images and illustrations submitted to Veer Marketplace must be suitable for commercial royalty-free use.

Can you explain more about vector image acceptance. I can’t catch the common selection principle when look to my accepted and rejected vectors.

I can't figure out common principles either...
On one side there are rejections of templates saying that buyers need elements... On other side there are rejections of design elements - sets of 100% original buttons, some banners or completely original creative illustrations saying that veer buyers don't need such images... I really don't get that logic at all...

What does it mean "Other concerns" as a rejection reason?

Fineartfoto click the comments link to see if the reviewer left a note.

The reviewer left a note "Other concerns" that's why I asked what it meant...

And then I said …

And still no explanation of what "Other concerns" means... I would like to resubmit the rejected images but how can I do it without knowing what should be improved?

I just had a wave of 100 images go through the approval process. Most of them were approved, however now my available submissions remain at 0. Am I through?

Hi J Strand -

The current default submission limit is 100 files per week. This will reset automatically. Even if you've hit the submission limit in a given week, you can still upload new files into your workspace and get them prepped for submission (keywords, releases et al).

Hope this helps.

Hi Brian
I have submitted a set of 10 Photos related to the Professionals Runners at the New York City Marathon (account vk2109@columbia.edu) and I am a bit confused with the rejections reasons: Multiple issues including: missing model releases for models, visible logos, exposure/lighting issues

It's really the first time I doing this, but wondering how missing model release could be obtained from those runners ? and regarding the logos, I would guess the Sponsors do I have to blur them on Photoshop ?

Thanks a lot

Hi Vadim -

Unfortunately it can be extremely difficult to capture usable photos of professional sporting events that are suitable for use in royalty-free stock image collections.

Although spectators and participants are often free to take photos of such events for their personal use, it is rare that spectators are given permission to use those images for commercial purposes - like stock.

In addition to the potentially time-consuming need to remove all visible logos and sponsor graphics, it is likely to be difficult to get signed releases from athletes. In our experience, event sponsors, athletes, and venue owners rarely give such permission.

For these reasons - we do not recommend submitting images from pro sporting events to Marketplace.

But keep shooting! :)

You might consider ways you can capture the concept of a pro race in your own shoot - where avoiding logos and getting releases will be much more feasible.
A set of good images of runners on a course and crossing a finish line would be likely to do well on Marketplace. Lots of good concepts there that would likely resonate with buyers: competition, endurance, dedication, achievement, winning, winners ....

Hope this helps!

Hi Brian, I submitted 10 photos several days ago and have not heard back yet. Is this normal, or perhaps there is something else I should do to expedite the review process?

Thank you.

Hi Romaia -

Our review times for new accounts are currently running a bit longer than average. There is nothing else you need to do - your images are at the top of our editing queue and will be reviewed very soon.

Best,

- Brian

Hi Ilyes -

Releases are uploaded and attached to images in the Workspace on the "Prepare and Submit" tab.

Select the images you want to attach a release to. On the right-hand pane - click "edit" next to Releases to open up the controls for uploading a release. Once you've selected the release file on your local machine, and added the Model's name, shoot description, age and ethnicity - click "create release". This stores it in the system, and attaches it to the selected images.

Once a release is stored, you can use the "previously uploaded releases" controls to add a previously uploaded release to other images to save time on future submissions containing content with the same model or property from the same shoot. (A friendly reminder - releases are only legally valid for the date and shoot specified on the form. Releases should only be applied to content created during that specified shoot.)

Hope this helps!
Let us know if you have any trouble.

Best,

- Brian
